There is a reliable bus service from the village if you don’t fancy the challenge of driving into Florence. However, you will need a car for your stay at La Casermetta, both to get up and down the hill to the village and for those special day trips around the countryside for which the house is extremely well placed.

You can take day trips all over Tuscany. San Gimignano, Pienza, Castellina, Siena, Monteriggione, Pisa, Radda, Arezzo (antiques), Lucca, Viareggio + Forte dei Marmi (the seaside), Massa Carrara (marble), Cortona, Cinque Terre and of course Florence. The list is endless.

Ours is a very personal service. Guests receive a booklet of extra information, revised and updated each year suggesting day trips, driving directions, our favourite restaurants, where to buy the tastiest food, markets, festivals, tips on food and customs and our pick of the best on offer close at hand, such as the dazzling designer outlet shopping mall, the antique market circuit and even advice for those travelling further afield such as to the Amalfi coast were we spend a great deal of time and have useful contacts.
